M.B. Government Post Graduate College, Haldwani was established in July 1960 under the Moti Ram Babu Ram Educational Trust. Initially affiliated with Agra University, it transitioned to Kumaun University in 1974. The college focuses on expanding access to higher education for the youth of Haldwani and the surrounding Kumaon region. In 1982, the Government took over administration, making it a fully funded institution. the Department of Mathematics

Department of Mathematics came into existence in the year 1982 with under graduate courses. Currently department follows the curriculum of Kumaun University, Nainital. Post graduate courses in M.A and M.Sc. started in the year 1989. Since then the Department has made a remarkable progress in teaching and research in various branches of Mathematics. It has earned National & International recognition in research in the fields of Integral Transform, Fluid Dynamics, operation research, Differential geometry and manifolds.
